Carey Yaruss: Reviews/Testimonials

Carey is a great to work with, has a positive influence on the recording process and has a sweet yet powerful voice. Absolutely recommend her and will be working with her again soon.

Anyone who listens to Carey sing knows she is a talented vocalist. Yet Carey is also extremely gifted as a teacher. Her knowledge of vocal technique for multiple musical styles allows the student to find his/her unique sound. She is both patient and steadfast, challenging her students to reach their full potential. Even the shyest of "shower singers" will blossom under Carey's guidance. I feel fortunate to call her both teacher and friend.

Final Recording Studio Session for Keep Walkin' On
Posted by Jami Jackson on March 24, 2009 at 8:20pm
Today was a great day because I finally finished recording the vocals for "Keep Walkin' On", my newest song. I am so excited about that because recording in the studio can be a grueling process! Vocal takes have to be done and re-done until its perfect. Even the littlest imperfection sticks out on a recording. Thankfully, I prepared ahead of time for the recording and I had my vocal teacher, Carey Yaruss there. Her website is www.careyyaruss.com. Carey has been a great addition to my life. I just started working with her, but she has really helped me hone my vocal technique. She has a great ear and is able to pick out the littlest thing. It was nice having her in the studio today because this day was for my lead vocals and adlibs. Those parts of a song is the most difficult part of a recording because they have to be not only technically correct, but delivered correctly. The passion has to come through. Having Carey there helped take off some of the stress because I had other ears to hear what I was doing. I didn't have to concentrate on the technique, I could just sing. I'm really excited about this song and I hope that it touches somebody. It is a very inspirational, uplifting song and I believe in times like these, when people are losing their jobs and homes, we need something to touch us on a more deeper level. Once I finish mixing and mastering the song, I'll be able to start promoting it! More to come....
Carey,
From elementary school on, you have been sharing your lovely vocal skills, your intuitive stylistic interpretations of songs, your desire to be the best that you can be, and your upbeat attitude with students and colleagues. When you sing, you seem to be opening your soul to the world. Congratulations on your
awesome achievements!

Carey is a very gifted, patient, and impassioned teacher, always adjusting to the individual needs and capabilities of her students. She will challenge you to move beyond your comfort zone, and perhaps unleash from within yourself the singer you can truly be.

So thanks to you and your voice, I can't that Alabama song out of my head. It's like my new favorite song. I think you sound so awesome. Your voice is really warm and full in it's lower register-which I think is why it works well for a country song.

Really good job!

Carey Yaruss is a fantastic vocalist with a wide range and powerful sound. But most importantly, she possesses the unique ability to
reach her audience with her engaging and energetic stage presence.
She is a huge force in a small package!

Before meeting Carey I was rather hopeless in singing in tune, and as such I feared even singing along to the radio with friends. At our first lesson Carey put me at ease and assured me I had nothing to worry about, and she ended up being right. After only a few classes I already noticed a vast improvement in singing in tune and in my range. (I didn't even know I had range to begin with!) She's also one cool chick.

Carey’s voice speaks straight to one’s heart, truly a blessing!

For a gal who was singing in my hall way and given so little time your vocals are incredible.
My big gun songwriting friend was immediately taken. He asked "who's the singer?" and then gave that approving smirk.

Your voice sounds really powerful and the orchestration, to my ears, sets the table beautifully for each course that's served up.

This song is gonna be in my head all night. Damn us!

Superlative isn't a big enough word

Carey is a superlative talent. She's a pleasure to listen to - with a full range, crisp clean voice, great pitch, outstanding projection and dynamics. They don't get any better than this.

Gorgeous!

This girl can sing!! She's quiet and introspective one minute and then belting it out the next. Her voice is rich and sensual and has so many different colors. "River" is hauntingly beautiful. "Firenights" is kickass! "The Man That Got Away" is full of class (Judy would be proud!)"Take My Breath Away" is inspirational. "Gold" is a spectacular finish showing the full emotional power of her voice. There is nothing this girl can't sing. You won't be dissapointed!!!

Fantastic ,and a wonderful voice with an amazing range of styles

What a refined gem for a first time album! A project put together by herself that sings of vigor far beyond her young lungs...passionate, profoundly powerful, and sticky with inviting voice. A disc that works for my mom and for my love shack. Kudos!
Unbelievable! You've got what it takes. The next "American Idol"

Strong set of lungs yet sweet and soothing to the ear! A real professional with a sure career in front of her. Judy Garland would be proud of you!!

Amazing! Every song stands on it's own!

I was blown away by the vocals and talent. Carey is both versatile and unique, bringing her own personality into each song. It's impossible not to want to play this CD over and over again and each time you hear something new you missed the last time around. Beautiful!
Carey Yaruss - River: Another pretty and
well-done version of the Blue classic - Carey
adds just the right touch of power and emotion to
the vocal, and there are great harmonies to boot.
Piano and synth-strings add a nice accompaniment.
